Our Academic Calendar

Four-season academic year

In order to take advantage of nature-based play in all four seasons, our yearly calendar runs from September to May. We also try to align closely with other schools in our local area, in order to make logistics easier for families with children at multiple schools.

Week-long vacations

We also follow the European practice of week-long vacations, and made more of our breaks at least one week long for true restoration for our students and staff.

Optional attendance

Lastly, because our group activities are not based on linear progression, Wilderland has an optional attendance policy. We encourage students and families to go on trips or participate in community events whenever that suits their schedule.
