The Socratic Method
The Socratic method is a classic (but rarely used) teaching practice that offers questions in place of answers to students. As such, it often sparks motivation for further research into the subject matter, and drives students to think more rigorously about their own opinions and beliefs. Students learn to develop their rationale, as well as how to better process information.
Socratic discussions foster a collaborative learning environment. By allowing students to work together to explore and analyze complex topics, they can learn from one another and build a sense of community within the classroom.
Overall, Socratic discussions are a powerful way to engage students in meaningful dialogue and promote deeper learning and understanding.
